Glazed terracotta is the result of rigorous work and an ancestral technique. Finely ground colored glass is deposited on the terracotta. From glossy to matte to metallic, the fusion between enamel and firing gives it its unmistakable character. Dual-fired enamel owes its name to a second high-temperature firing that makes the finely ground glass extremely resistant, allowing the clay to self-vitrify and the enamel to set.
