Rairies Montrieux has been involved in the art world for many years. In fact, the company regularly welcomes artists or apprentice artists, putting terracotta at the service of creativity. The result: the creation of magnificent works of art, thanks to collaboration with schools and renowned artists. A look back at some exceptional exchanges between the team at Les Rairies Montrieux and the art world.
Rairies Montrieux and art: a long-standing relationship
These days of exchange allow us to take a totally different look at Les Rairies terracotta and bring it to life. New acquaintances, new memories and unique bonds are created during these visits that help us evolve. Of course, we intend to perpetuate this event, which is so close to our hearts.
This month, we welcomed students from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in collaboration with the School of Fine Arts in Halle (Germany) and Ghent (Belgium). They spent a week at the company. Accompanied by their teachers, this week was an opportunity for them to develop their creativity by creating works of art.
It was a pleasure to welcome them and discover their way of working our ancestral land. The talent of these artists will always fascinate and amaze us!
In October, terracotta is transformed into works of art
During the week, the artists visited our workshops and learned about our know-how at every stage of production. This allowed them to immerse themselves in our know-how. Afterwards, they worked our land in their own way to give free rein to their imagination. A car, animals and many other sculptures came to life in our workshops during this week dedicated to art!
The works are currently being dried and then fired in our wood-fired kiln. They will then be exhibited to showcase these talents!
The week was also an opportunity for Rémy Montrieux to thank Clémence Van Lunen, a teacher at the Ecole des Beaux Art in Le Mans. Clémence has been involved in these exchange and discovery projects for many years.
