At a time when environmental issues are paramount, the use of earth - and terracotta in particular - in facades is a good way of keeping up with current concerns.
A natural material that has been used in construction for centuries, it requires very little energy for processing, and the waste it produces is non-polluting.
For both new-build and renovation projects, we believe that terracotta is a material with a bright future. The choice of Les Rairies came quite naturally. As well as being made in France, the quality of the products and the range of possibilities mean you can let your imagination run wild.
Concerning the choice of the Coste profile:
In a typical Bordeaux neighborhood, where blond stone is predominant, we were looking for a cladding material that was both high-quality and close to the color of stone.
The facade of the project was flat and linear, so we had to add relief and dynamism to the whole.
The shape of the Coste profile allows you to play with light and shadow to create depth, while the 45° angle gives the first floor a dynamic feel, contrasting with the more sedate ground floor.
