A renovation that pays homage to "the land of thistles

Built in 1969, Grande Borne underwent a complete renovation in 2018, including a facade facelift to reinforce external insulation. Out of a total of 3,600 homes, 1,260 were entrusted to us, and we wanted to clad them in natural or glazed terracotta tiles in shades of mauve and brown for the first section, followed by blue and brown for the second section. These colors respect the tones of the original glass mosaics, while adding a new, more authentic and contemporary module. We worked with RAIRIES MONTRIEUX's technical and sales managers to develop the exact shades we wanted. What's more, as the site was originally named "terre à chardons" (thistle land), emblems of the town of Grigny, the blue and mauve colors were chosen to match the shades of the thistle flowers. The play of colors, with different blues and mauves, and thanks to the different layouts with brown, allowed us to give an identity to each building. This renovation has really enabled us to give these buildings a more polished, durable and attractive appearance, much to the satisfaction of their occupants.
