La Cité du Cinéma: The art of pixelation with Rairies clay bricks.
In the Cité du Cinéma, an original pixellated effect adorns the façade, created using bricks of various sizes. This play of relief and light introduces a unique dynamic to the building, in keeping with the industrial spirit of glass, steel, concrete and plaster. Located on the site of a former power plant, the Cité was looking for a material capable of uniting these disparate elements. The choice of Rairies terracotta, with its multi-dimensional bricks, creates a subtle contrast with the large glass openings, while playing with shadows and dynamic vibrations. This careful layout generates pixellated effects, giving the façade a fascinating relief and striking originality, perfectly in tune with the culture of the site.

Why choose Terre Cuite?

In order to bring together, in an industrial spirit, the various other components of the site - glass, steel, concrete and plaster - we were looking for a material capable of playing with all these elements in this cinema city, which is being built on the site of a former power station.

Why a RAIRIES product?

The aim was to create a contrast between the highly transparent glass openings and the wall... The aim was to encourage visitors to enter the city. To match the future culture of the place, we wanted to create dynamic vibrations, by creating a play of shadows through the use of bricks of different sizes and appropriate scaling, the whole creating the expected pixelation effects.
