The “Reverso” brick is an elongated, two-sided brick, offering different panneresses-boutisses combinations on each side. Each side of the brick offers a different ornament for even more variations in the matching of semi-supporting or mantle walls.
A number of different Reverso bricks are available in various combinations, with or without reliefs: for example, Pb&pB.
Another version of the Reverso can be used to create elaborate cornices. One side features five headers on a straight field, while the other has them offset at 45°: the 5b&5B45°.
Reverso bricks are designed for the economical construction of solid brick walls, known as mantle walls. They may or may not be embossed. These walls can be used as a sub-base for a wall made of brick slips. Pour de Vrai because they have more relief.
